Physical Visual Merchandising Associate - Entry Level
at Cardis Furniture & Mattresses
Associate will be working in conjunction with the Director of Visual Merchandising and the Visual Merchandiser of the store to assist in placement of furniture and accessory items in the showroom. The Physical Visual Merchandising Associate assists the Visual Merchandiser to enhance the aesthetics of the showroom and keeps floor product current, appealing to the guest and is aimed at increasing store sales.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Maintain showroom displays.
- Arrange and set up furniture and accessory items in showroom. Including assembly of product.
- Unloading furniture and related materials off truck.
- Open and tag new accessories.
- Works with the Visual Merchandiser:
- Lead the flow of furniture and accessory product to sales floor
- Place or remove furniture from the floor
- Monitor quality of showroom goods
- Inform visual merchandiser to correct or initiate replacement of substandard floor samples

MANAGEMENT/SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES (including job titles of direct reports):
No Management or Supervisory responsibilities.
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty and responsibility satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, ability and/or physical demands required.
Education/Certification/Licensure: High School diploma or equivalent.
Experience: Prior related experience and or training preferred but not required.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing. Ability to handle, lift and maneuver heavy merchandise. Ability to communicate with other teams of varying job functions. Ability to follow routine verbal and written instructions. Willingness to learn how to design showroom vignettes. Experience handling hand and power tools. Able to multi-task.
WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL ABILITIES:
While performing the essential duties and responsibilities of this job, the associate’s work varies between retail store and warehouse environments. Frequently lifts at least one hundred ten (110) pounds, moves furniture and accessories, and climb ladders. Continually walks, stands, bends, crouch, kneel, push and pull. Occasionally work performed at buildings under construction. Uses regularly hands and fingers, handle or feel or use power tools; reach with hands and arms; and talk and hear. Travel required.
